On Sunday, the warplanes of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), operating under the command of the Islamic Terrorist Movement, launched a brutal aerial attack on residential neighborhoods in the city of Al-Fula, West Kordofan. Using indiscriminate barrel bombs, the attack claimed the lives of dozens of innocent civilians and left many more wounded, among them children, women, and the elderly, in a horrific crime added to the record of genocidal crimes.
The treacherous aggression is part of a systematic campaign of repeated attacks that have devastated the cities of Bara, Al-Nuhud, Al-Khoi, Al-Muglad, Al-Fula, and Abu Zabad. The most recent of these heinous assaults targeted shelters for displaced civilians in Abu Zabad, resulting in hundreds of victims.
We affirm that these crimes constitute a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and reflect the deliberate, systematic targeting of civilians based on ethnic and regional identity that amounts to crimes against humanity.
We call on the international community and human rights organizations to take immediate and decisive action to hold accountable all those responsible for these heinous crimes. We also urge the families of the victims and relevant legal bodies to pursue justice by prosecuting the generals in Port Sudan and the leadership of the Islamic Terrorist Movement organization.
We reaffirm our firm commitment to defending our people and their right to freedom and dignity, until the criminal gang of murderers and terrorists is overthrown, and the independent national decision is restored.
