Transitional Sovereignty Council Vice President, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo reaffirmed that the government will ensure justice for all Sudan’s people. This is particularly so as far as Eastern Sudan is concerned, he said, where the people have suffered from injustices and marginalization.
While addressing a large crowd in the Sinkat Locality in Red Sea State on Friday, the vice president said Sudan’s future stability and development depend on unity and integration.
The governor of Red Sea State, economic officials and representatives of the chamber of commerce were in attendance.
Dagalo stressed that the state committee working on issues in Eastern Sudan has performed exceptionally well so far, noting that a number of decisions have already been reached. However, he said tribes and chiefs need to work together with the committee and renounce rivalries and disputes.
He added that the committee’s promises are real, without any hidden political agenda.
“We must live together in harmony to develop our country to its full potential,” Dagalo said.
Meanwhile, while addressing the local population, the vice president said they should pay close attention to educating their children, who will in turn share their knowledge with future generations and help the country prosper.
Dagalo promised to resolve issues related to the provision of basic services in the state within two days of his visit, as well as to help resolve the drinking water problem in the area.
The vice president also stated that 84 resolutions and recommendations have already been issued to resolve the major challenges facing Sudan’s people and its ports.
In addition, five memorandums of cooperation have been signed with businesses to help advance economic development throughout the region, he said.
Dagalo once again reiterated the need to renounce tribalism and mutual respect across the country. “We want our economy to develop from Eastern Sudan onwards, and this cannot be accomplished if we do not work together, hand-in-hand,” he said.
Dagalo also thanked the local people, tribal chiefs and native administrations for showing him such honor and respect during his visit.
Meanwhile, Red Sea Governor Ali Abd Allah Adroub stated that the vice president held many impactful meetings to find solutions to problems facing Eastern Sudan and its ports.
In turn, Chief and Chairman of the Independent Supreme Council of the Bija Tribes Mohammed Al-Amin Trik said all the country's ports will open and operate smoothly.
He also called on businesses, investors and ships to support and operate through the ports in Red Sea State. Trik praised the government’s efforts to resolve the region's problems, as well as the work of the security forces to achieve peace and stability.
Trik also referred to the vice president as a “man of the people,” who cares deeply about resolving the problems facing Sudanese people everywhere.
During his visit to the locality, Dagalo also took the opportunity to visit the command of the 37th Infantry Division, as well as Mount Al-Sit Arquet and Prince Osman Digna Mausoleum.
