RSF in Central Darfur Take over the Responsibility UNAMID Compounds

The command of the RSF in Central Darfur has taken over the compounds of the outgoing UNAMID which became Zalinjia University following the recent decisions of Central Darfur Governor.

Acting Central Darfur Governor, Saad Adam Babikir, said that the assignment of the RSF to safeguard and protect the compounds of the University comes in continuation of its significant role in protecting the public facilities, lauding the quick response of the RSF to fill the gap and preserve the properties of the UNAMID and availing a conducive educational environment for the university, adding that the handing over procedures included all the facilities.

For his part, Police Director of Central Darfur State, Maj. Gen.  Abdul Azim Abdul Salam, lauded the role of the RSF in protecting the citizens and their properties, affirming that the police authorities and prosecution   have provided the required technical support to the RSF to allow it conduct its mission in a professional manner.

For his part, RSF Commander in Central Darfur, Brig. Ali Yagoub Jibril said that the assignment of the RSF to safeguard and protect the compounds of  the UNAMID – Now Zalinji University – came in response to the Governor’s decision and the central government, affirming their readiness to provide all the required support , pointing out to the existence of police and prosecution to cooperate in this regard, urging the citizens and local administration to cooperate with the RSF.
