First Vice President (FVP) of the Sovereign Council, 1st Lt. Gen. Mohammed Hamdan Daglo has welcomed the signature of the Declaration of Principles between the President of the Sovereign Council, 1st Lt. Gen. Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan and the leader of SPLM-N Abdul Aziz Al-Hilu.
“We commend the Declaration of Principles signed between Al-Burhan and Al-Hilu and consider it as a step forward. We call on Abdulwahid to sign a similar agreement to accomplish the peace process” said Daglo.
The FVP pledged, during his receiving a delegation from the IDPs camps, o conduct a serious negotiations with the government institutions and NGOs to bridge the gap of foodstuff, medicine, and security in the IDPs camps, besides collecting the firearms and easing the work of polices forces, stressing on the necessity of dealing with IDPs and refugees issues.
He called on the citizens to play positive role in easing the repatriation of the IDPs, besides avoiding racism and tribalism.
For his part, Chieftain Sisi Fadul Sisi affirmed that the local administrations support Juba Peace Agreement and the peaceful coexistence, describing the FVP as the sponsor of peace, lauding his efforts in boosting peace.
IDPs representatives, Adam Ahmed Arman called for bringing about control and to raise the forces to 50 thousand to protect the peace, affirming the readiness of the IDPs to voluntary return to their home villages to contribute in agriculture, wishing that they are given the chance to go to Juba to meet with Abdulwahid and convince him to join the peace process.
IDPs youth representative, Idris Darbinga said that Darfur people paid the high price of war and it is time to enjoy peace.
IDPs women representative Awatif Abdul Rahman called for firearms collection considering firearms as the enemy of Darfur, describing the IDPs camps as prison in which people spent 19 years waiting for repatriation.
She congratulated the FVP for achieving peace in Darfur, adding that they are proud with their son Mohamed Hamdan Daglo who achieved peace for the Darfurians.
