The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), operating under the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group and its extremist battalions, continue to carry out systematic shelling against civilians. Today, Wednesday, they targeted a market in the Sarf Umra area in North Darfur State, resulting in dozens of innocent civilians killed and injured.
This attack comes only days after the shelling of Al-Daein Hospital, along with multiple other locations, including markets and residential neighbourhoods in El Fasher and Manawashi in Darfur, as well as Al-Majlad and Lagawa in Kordofan. These attacks have left hundreds of civilians dead or wounded in areas entirely devoid of any military presence.
The repeated targeting of innocent civilians exposes to the world and to the conscience of humanity the true nature and severity of these violations and confirms that the Sudanese people are facing grave and deliberate acts of violence aimed at targeting their security and safety.
We assure all Sudanese people that our forces remain steadfast in their commitment to restore stability, protect civilians’ rights, and work toward establishing a democratic state founded on justice, equal citizenship, and a unified, non-politicised army whose loyalty is first and foremost to the nation.
