In yet another crime added to its bloody record, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), operating under the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood, targeted today, Friday, the Accident and Emergency Department of Al-Daein Teaching Hospital in East Darfur State using a Turkish-made “Akıncı” drone which resulted in damage and material losses, that are currently being assessed.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) strongly condemn this heinous act of aggression and affirm that it reflects a systematic pattern of targeting innocent civilians and civil facilities, foremost among them healthcare facilities in a grave and flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, particularly the Geneva Conventions, which guarantee full protection for medical facilities and their personnel. This act represents a full-fledged war crime that warrants international criminal accountability.
Moreover, the timing of this attack, carried out on the first day of the blessed Eid al-Fitr, underscores the perpetrators’ complete disregard for moral and humanitarian scruples, as well as for the sanctity of religious occasions and human values.
Our forces call upon the United Nations, relevant UN mechanisms, and international human rights organisations to strongly condemn this criminal conduct, take urgent steps to launch independent and transparent investigation, hold those responsible accountable, and prevent the recurrence of such serious violations.
The RSF affirms its commitment to pursue all those responsible for these crimes, both those who carried them out or those who ordered them, and to ensure they do not evade justice, so that justice is served for the victims and those affected.
