In a grave development concerning the attack on Al-Daein Teaching Hospital, the death toll from the bombardment carried out by the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood army has risen to more than 62, including 12 children, with 113 others injured, most of them women and children. A number of victims remain trapped under the rubble, as search and rescue operations continue.
The cowardly attack was carried out on Friday evening using an “Akinci” drone. In addition to the loss of civilian lives, the strike completely destroyed the hospital’s top floor, caused extensive damage to the infrastructure of the Accident and Emergency Department, and destroyed vital medical equipment, among other damage.
This attack constitutes a full-fledged war crime and represents a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, particularly the principles concerning the protection of civilians and civil objects, as well as the prohibition on targeting medical facilities, which enjoy special protection under the Geneva Conventions.
This criminal act has sparked widespread outrage within the local community, which has strongly condemned this brutal conduct and rejected the Muslim Brotherhood’s terrorism, in clear violation of all international laws and norms.
In this context, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) declare their full solidarity with the families of the victims and reaffirm their commitment to secure their legal rights, pursuing accountability for those responsible both perpetrators and those who ordered the attack and ensure that they do not evade justice, regardless of their military or executive positions.
Our forces also renew their call on the United Nations, international judicial and human rights organizations, to take urgent action, launch independent investigations, and take the necessary measures to hold those responsible for this crime accountable and put an end to the grave violations being committed against innocent civilians.
Furthermore, our forces affirm that they reserve the right to respond to such crimes within the framework of the legitimate right, as guaranteed by law, to protect civilians. The targeting of children and innocent civilians in such a brutal manner can only be interpreted as part of systematic practices amounting to acts of genocide, which must be deterred and brought to an end by all lawful means.
