Transitional Sovereignty Council Vice President, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo has held talks in Moscow today with Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev. The wide-ranging talks covered Sudan-Russia corporation on all bilateral and international levels.
Dagalo’s visit to Moscow comes amid a major foreign-policy tour, which has seen him visit a range of countries in recent weeks from Ethiopia to the UAE to Russia. Earlier this month, the vice president met in the UAE with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Mohamed bin Zayed to discuss regional security issues.
Dagalo and Patrushev underscored that Sudan-Russia relations are based on joint interests and mutual respect. They also agreed to further develop previously reached agreements in the economic, diplomatic, political and security spheres. Dagalo also expressed thanks to Russia for the support that it has shown to Sudan internationally. He added that Sudan is willing to strengthen cooperation and build partnerships that are beneficial for both countries.
In turn, Patrushev said he is pleased with the relationship between the two countries and stressed the need to enhance collaboration in the future.
