Vice President of the Sovereign Council, 1st Lt. Gen, Mohamed Hamdan Daglo has held in Moscow, the capital city of Russian, a joint discussion session with the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov in the presence of Abu Bakr Omer Al-Bushra, Minister of Energy and Oil, Mohamed Abdallah Mahmoud, Minister of Minerals, Mohamed Bashir Abdallah, Acting Undersecretary of Foreign Ministry, Ambassador nadir Yusuf, and Chairman of the Commercials Chambers Union, Nadir Al-Hilali and the Charge De-affaires of the Sudanese embassy in Moscow, Ambassador Onour Ahmed Onour.
The talks discussed the bilateral aspects, besides the consultation over the bilateral, regional and international issues of joint concern.
The talks concentrated on the importance of expanding the bilateral cooperation in political, diplomatic, economic and commercial aspects.
The two sides agreed to expedite the agreements singed and resuming the joint ministerial meetings besides expediting the resumption of the joint committees meeting.
While addressing the meeting, VP expressed the appreciation of the Sudanese government for the continuous support provided by Russia to Sudan especially in the UNSC and UN a matter that contributed in boosting the realtions between the two countries.
He pointed out that the visit confirmed Sudan’s intention to go ahead in strengthening the relations between the two countries towards wider horizons., adding that the talks with the Russian Foreign Minister contributed in creating new understandings which will push forward the agricultural, minarals, oil and gas aspects besides other economic fields.
For his part, Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, affirmed the deept-rooted relations between the two countries calling for not interfering in the Sudanese internal issues, confirming the keenness of his country to upgrade the level of cooerpation on energy, agriculture, mining, environment, adding that Sudan enjoys promising potentials, calling for removing the obstacles hindering the flow of the Russian investments including the investment policies and procedures, pointing out to the readiness of the Russian companies to invest in Sudan.
