The Al-Geneina Horse Racing Club in West Darfur state organized an equestrian festival today to support tribal reconciliation and peaceful coexistence.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Peace and Reconciliation Committee carries out efforts to ensure peace and stability in Kordofan state and all throughout Darfur.
Brigadier Fath Rahman Ahmed Ali, representative commander of the Fifteenth Infantry Division, praised the club and its role in strengthening the social fabric of the community, underscoring that sport has historically been recognized as a bridge of fraternity and harmony.
Meanwhile, Colonel Moussa Hamid Ambello, chairman of the RSF Peace and Reconciliation Committee, thanked the Equestrian Union for electing him as its head.
He also praised the generous support of Transitional Sovereignty Council Vice President, RSF Commander, Equestrian Union Honorary President, General Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo.
Ambello said the union will continue to support peace and stability in Darfur, reject division and racism, and restore what war has destroyed in the region through sport .
He also called on all relevant stakeholders to stand with West Darfur Governor Khamis Abdullah Abakar in his efforts to bring peace and stability to the state.
