First Vice President (FVP) of the Transitional Sovereign Council, 1st Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo has received in his office at the Republican Palace the Norwegian Kingdom Envoy to Sudan and South Sudan, Ednre Stiansen.
The meeting discussed the developed relations between Sudan and Norway and the mean of its improvement to serve the joint interests besides the political developments in Sudan.
For his part, the FVP praised the supportive stances of Norway to the stability of Sudan, calling for the continuation of those efforts to make the transitional period a success towards conducting the elections.
On the current crisis, the FVP affirmed that the only way out is through dialogue considering it the appropriate means to resolve the Sudanese crisis, renewing his call at the beginning of the revolution in which he emphasized the importance of the participation of youth and women in the transitional period.
On his part, the Norwegian Envoy presented an enlightenment to the FVP on the recent conference of Sudan’s friends held in the Saudi Arabia capital and the outcome of the conference which assured the support to Volker’s initiative, along with the importance that the solution should be pure Sudanese, pointing out to the importance of youth and women participation in the dialogue process.
He added that the meeting tackled the security situation in Darfur on the background of his recent visit to the region, calling for the formation of Civilians’ protection forces and the continuation of the security arrangements process.
