First Vice President (FVP) of the Transitional Sovereign Council, 1st lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo has received in his office at the republican Palace today the French Envoy to Sudan, Ambassador Jean-Michel Dumond where the developments in Chad were discussed following the death of President Idris Debby.
The two sides emphasized the importance of coordination and joint action in order to achieve stability in Chad.
The French Envoy, Ambassador Jean-Michel Dumond said in press statements that the meeting with the FVP came upon request from France Foreign Minister to discuss the situations in Chad with the Sudanese officials., pointing out that Sudan and France share the same goals in regard to achieving security and stability in Chad.
He added that France supports the transitional council in Chad, urging the council to work out a plan for swift transformation to democracy.
He said that the events in Chad affect Sudan and vice versa, pointing out to the successful model of Sudan represented by the experience of joint transitional government between Military and civilian components.
