First Vice President (FVP) of the Transitional Sovereign Council, 1st Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo received today in his office at the Republican Palace, the Saudi State Minister for African Countries’ Affairs, H.E. Ahmed Bin Abdul Aziz Gatan in the presence of Acting Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs Ministry , Elham Shantair and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Khartoum, Ali Bin Hassan Gaafar.
The meeting discussed the brotherly relations between Sudan and Saudi Arabia and the means of boosting it to achieve the aspirations of the people of the two countries.
The FVP commended the supportive Saudi Arabia stances to Sudan in regional and international forums.
Daglo affirmed the readiness of the government of the transitional government to promote upgrade the economic relations with Saudi Arabia and its keenness to avail conducie investment environment to attract Saudi investors,.
On his part, the Saudi Minister described the visit as important considering that it is the first of its kind for a Saudi official to Sudan following the following the announcement of the new Sudanese government , pointing out that he discussed with the FVP the means of developing the bilateral relations in all aspects, adding that he held several meetings with Sudanese officials during which he confirmed the keenness of Saudi Arabia to .
laund a Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries to encourage investment especially in agriculture.
