FVP Meets WFP Executive Director

First Vice President (FVP) of the Transitional Sovereign Council, 1st Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo has received in his office today, Mr. David Beasley, the Executive Director of the  UN World Food Programme (WFP).
The meeting discussed the means that enable the WFP provide the humanitarian assistance to the needy people all over the country especially the war-affected areas in Darfur and the Two areas following the signature of the peace agreement with the armed struggle movements.
The FVP affirmed the support of the government to the WFP programmes in the country besides easing the access of the humanitarian assistance to all the needy areas in Sudan.
He lauded the great efforts exerted by the WFP in providing humanitarian assistance to the needy communities .
For his part, Mr. David Beasley, the Executive Director of WFP conveyed his congratulations for lifting Sudan from the State Sponsor of Terrorism t  the signature of the peace agreement with the armed struggle movements, affirming that the WFP is working in all the areas of Sudan to provide its assistance to the needy categories irrespective their geographical  locations or political affiliations or religious beliefs.
