We Managed to Control Negative Aspects, Says RSF Commander in Gedaref State

Rapid Support Forces (RSF) commander in Gedaref State, Col. Ibrahim Mahmoud Musa said the RSF (Gedaref Sector) is considered one of the most important sectors considering that its mandate includes all the borders of the state neighbouring to Ethiopia, adding that Gedaref State is a crossing point  to several states (Kassala – Red Sea) where all types of  smuggling  including human trafficking, drugs,  arms, and medicines are active.
He affirmed that the RSF are working in harmony with the economic mechanism in the flow of fuels and commodities to the state, adding that they managed to arrest foreign currency speculators  and hand them to the concerned authorities.
He disclosed that due to the strategic location which includes several public and private institutions it is fatal to involve the RSF in the security committee of the state to preserve security  and bring about control in the state.
Col. Ibrahim added, in an interview conducted with him by Al-Intibaha daily, that his forces played a significant role, in coordination with the security committee in the state, in resolving the recent tribal conflicts in the state the last of which is the conflict between Dabaina and Jawamees tribes, a matter that was appreciated by community.
He revealed coordination between the RSF and other regular forces to provide the required services and participating in the development and stability programmes in the state.
