The Commander of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) – Kassala Sector – Col. Yahia Mohamed Adam affirmed that the RSF have played a strategic role in curbing the smuggling in the state as it managed, in coordination with other regular forces to seize huge quantities of strategic commodities such as flour, gasoil, and gasoline which were prepared to be smuggled to neighbouring countries.
Col. Yahia revealed – in an interview with Al-Tayar daily – the seizure of a vehicle loaded with alcohol worth SDG4 billion, besides recovering of stolen properties including cars, weapons and ammunitions and spare parts, besides landmines, and walky-talky apparatuses, adding that they handed the seized materials to the police authorities.
He said that the RSF contributed in the reconciliations among the conflicted tribes, adding that the RSF managed, in coordination with other regular forces, to bring about control and achieve stability in all the areas of the state, affirming their preparedness to support the peace process, lauding the role of the RSF moral guidance division in raising the spirits of the forces and promoting the religious values.
