FVP Pledges to Resolve Farmers and Herders Dispute in North Darfur

First Vice President (FVP) of the Transitional Sovereign Council, 1st Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo has pledged to resolve the recent dispute between some farmers and herders in Dar Beeri area in Kutum of North Darfur State.
FVP received in his office today the delegation of the local administration representing Um Rai and Baasheem areas in North Darfur led by the Chieftain of Beeri, Hassan Ahmed Mohammed Nour.
He discussed with the delegation the security situations following the killing of one farmer by the herders, pledging to arrest the criminals and hand them to the concerned authorities soon.
For his part, Beeri representative commended the rapid response of the FVP, affirming that local administrations in the area will exert all efforts to mend the social fabric, lauding the role of the ESF in protecting the agricultural season.
Member of the delegation, Saleh Sandal Adam said that they came to the FVP after they failed to arrest the criminal through the regular forces in the area, calling on the farmers and herders to live in peace and mend the social fabric besides avoiding the conflicts.
