1st Vice President of the Sovereign Council, 1st Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo has expressed his appreciation to all the efforts that contributed in removing Sudan from States Sponsor of Terrorism List which was imposed by the US Administration since the year 1993.
He called for overcoming that difficult stage, adding that the executive order of removing Sudan from terrorism list is but an opportunity to clarify that the Sudanese people are not terrorists or sponsoring terrorism.
Daglo, who was addressing the opening session of (Islam and Renovation) Conference, organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments and the Intellectual Immunization Care Research Centre, held in the Friendship Hall today (Saturday), emphasized the importance of launching a deep dialogue on the family and society issues, the relation between the religion and the State, the hate speech, political extremism, tribalism and other issues in order to come out with appropriate solutions.
Daglo affirmed that all Sudanese are tolerant people and respect all the nations in the globe.
“We will remain respecting all the religions and we never resort to violence or extremism.” Daglo disclosed.
He affirmed that the conference comes timely at a time when all are in need to renovate their religious, political and social lives to enjoy the social, political and religious peace.
He pointed out that the conference comes while our country is launching a new era following the signature of the peace agreement with the armed struggle movements.
Daglo expressed appreciation to the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Nasr Addeen Mufarah, and the Intellectual Immunization Care Research Centre for their great concern over the renovation issues at this time when destructive ideas are widespread on Islam and Muslims.
