First Vice President of the Sovereign Council, Head of the government delegation to peace talks, 1st Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo met today (Friday) in Juba with the US Special Envoy to Sudan, Donald Booth.
For his part, the US Special Envoy said in press statements after the meeting that the delegation of the Sudanese government and the armed struggle movements will sign tomorrow (Saturday) the peace agreement, pointing out that the meeting discussed the upcoming steps and how to implement the peace agreement, besides the role of the international community in the implementation of the peace process in Sudan.
The US Special Envoy affirmed their follow up with the Sudanese government to continue the negotiations with the non-signatory armed groups to allow Sudan achieve comprehensive peace during the transitional period.
He pointed out that the US Administration will work with the Sudanese government to remove Sudan from the terrorism list.
