MEDIA STATEMENT

In a significant step toward halting the coup attempt orchestrated by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) leadership and its backers linked to the former regime, a sizeable contingent of SAF soldiers from the 20th Al-Daein Division, comprising 15 officers and 527 personnel of various other ranks, has responded positively to Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Commander, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo's call to support the people's choice and joined our forces in the East Darfur sector. Their decision clearly reflects the collapsing of the SAF.

The RSF warmly welcomes these honorable men, who uncovered the SAF leadership’s plot to execute a coup in our country and reinstall the former regime. Their decision to integrate into the RSF represents a genuine victory for the Sudanese people and the noble goals of the glorious December revolution against injustice, oppression, and corruption.

Masterminded by extremist elements linked to the former regime and National Congress Party who operate within the SAF, this coup attempt has unfolded since the outbreak of the war and increasingly made use of their slogans that have led to conflict across our nation.

The RSF extends its heartfelt greetings to the officers and non-commissioned officers of the 20th Al-Daein Division and urges all honorable members of the SAF to align with the people's choice and join the RSF.

Together, we will build a unified national army free of political ideology that safeguards and protects our homeland and our people.
