MEDIA STATEMENT

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has responded aggressively to the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) as its soldiers moved from the Kass area to the city of Nyala in South Darfur.

The RSF inflicted significant losses on the SAF and its extremist backers linked to the former regime, including notable casualties and the extensive destruction of SAF materiel. Dozens of SAF soldiers surrendered and a large quantity of military equipment and vehicles was seized.

Despite our strong aversion to conflict, the RSF is obligated to defend the innocent civilians of Sudan. We remain steadfast in our commitment to protect our nation and eradicate the former regime from positions of authority. Only in doing so can we safeguard our citizens and bring to fruition their sovereign aspirations for freedom, peace, and justice.
