MEDIA STATEMENT

We greet you on this blessed day, as Muslims all across the world prepare to celebrate Eid al-Adha. We pray to the Almighty to pave the way for our country's salvation and a better future than its past. May Allah shower our people with goodness, prosperity, blessings, security, and stability in a country that resembles their dreams and sacrifices. We ask Allah to unite the Sudanese people and grant them victory over the corrupt and oppressive former regime.

In recognition of and in respect for human rights law and international humanitarian law, and as a continuation of our initiatives during these blessed days, the Rapid Support Forces leadership has decided to release 100 prisoners of war from the Sudanese Armed Forces, who were deceived by their defeated and cowering leadership and were forced to fight a battle that was not theirs.

The decision to release the prisoners comes in appreciation of Eid al-Adha and for humanitarian reasons. It is an opportunity for us to renew our call to the honorable members of the Sudanese Armed Forces to align themselves with the choice of the people, who aspire to restore civilian democratic rule in a country that preserves their freedom and human dignity.

May the Sudanese nation be blessed on this occasion.
