MEDIA STATEMENT

For the benefit of public and media awareness, please find below the key highlights from the Rapid Support Forces’ (RSF) victory today in the battle for the Central Reserve Forces HQ and the Awad Khogali Training Camp:

1. The RSF successfully took control of the Central Reserve Forces HQ and the Awad Khogali Camp. We seized a significant number of vehicles, weapons, and ammunition;

2. 160 fully armed Land Cruisers were seized (among numerous other vehicles);

3. 75 troop carriers (armored vehicles) were captured;

4. 25 tanks were seized;

5. A specialized RSF unit is now conducting an inventory and detailed analysis of an integrated warehouse containing ammunition;

6. An inventory is underway of a large quantity of military and engineering equipment;

7. The operation led to the capture or killing of hundreds of Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) officers and soldiers and other armed persons affiliated with the SAF and its extremist backers linked to the former regime of military dictator Omar al-Bashir.

Today's victory deals a significant blow to the SAF and its patrons from the former regime. It also serves as a source of encouragement for all those who support the restoration of freedom and democracy for our people and the return of civilian-led rule in Sudan.
