MEDIA STATEMENT

In an act of courageness and heroism Saturday morning, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) successfully intercepted and downed a MiG jet fighter belonging to the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), acting under the guidance of extremist elements linked to the former regime of military dictator Omar al-Bashir. The morning skies over southern Khartoum witnessed the audacious attack by these coup plotters, who soon thereafter were met by our resilient RSF soldiers.

Dozens of civilians were killed and injured in the SAF air strikes on the Mayo, Yarmouk, and Mandela neighborhoods in southern Khartoum.

As we honor our martyrs, we reiterate the spirit of their sacrifice. Their legacy lives on in the continued valor of the RSF, safeguarding our nation.
