MEDIA STATEMENT

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has repelled an attack by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and its backers linked to the former regime of military dictator Omar al-Bashir along the Um Dafouk border area in South Darfur State.

The RSF successfully seized the local SAF garrison as a result of campaign. We inflicted heavy losses on the SAF and seized 24 Land Cruisers and four armored vehicles, while capturing six SAF officers, led by a colonel, and 300 other soldiers of various ranks.

We reaffirm our commitment to the democratic ideals of our people and pledge to continue protecting these values diligently.
