RSF Welcomes Humanitarian Ceasefire and Reform Efforts
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) acknowledges and welcomes the signing of the Jeddah Agreement on May 21. This temporary ceasefire is aimed at facilitating aid to civilians and ensuring the operation of essential services such as water, electricity, and telecommunications.
The RSF expresses its gratitude to Saudi Arabia, the United States, and other countries that have lent their support to Sudan in these trying times.
We are committed to observing the ceasefire, which will officially commence on Monday evening, and to facilitating the distribution of humanitarian aid. We will also work to open safe passages for civilians, reducing the burden faced by our people.
The RSF stands ready to resolve as swiftly as possible the cycle of injustice and oppression that has marred our nation for too long. We pledge to enact military and security reforms to promote stability in Sudan. Our people deserve a dignified life in a free, democratic, secure, and stable country.
The aspirations of our youth, who rallied under the call for "Freedom, Peace, and Justice" will not be in vain.
Sudan belongs to all its people. We are all equal in rights and responsibilities, with the sovereignty belonging solely to the people of Sudan. Tyranny has no place in our land.
