MEDIA STATEMENT

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) expresses concern over the recent decision by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and its extremist allies from the former regime of dictator Omar al-Bashir to involve Sudan’s police forces in the ongoing war.
The decision, which has been accompanied by changes to the police leadership, has resulted in widespread confusion and is aimed at misleading the public.
Throughout its history, Sudan’s police forces have upheld the principles of national unity and neutrality, serving as a symbol of law and order.
However, in recent weeks, the RSF has been forced to react decisively to the Central Police Reserve’s involvement in the conflict — and now to this unexpected development.
The RSF urges honorable police personnel not to be swayed by members of the former regime and to maintain their neutral position in this conflict.
We trust in their wisdom and integrity and encourage them to uphold their commitment to serve the nation, rule of law, and the principle of justice.
The RSF emphasizes its readiness to respond resolutely to any attacks by the police forces, or any party donning an RSF uniform with the aim of misleading the public and committing a crime, as members of the Central Police Reserve have done since the outbreak of the war.
The RSF is dedicated to maintaining peace, security, and stability in Sudan, and will take all necessary measures to protect the country and its citizens.
