MEDIA STATEMENT

In a morning assault today, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) targeted areas under the control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the northern Bahri area. Our forces were swift to respond to the attacks.

The RSF successfully seized the SAF Swaga Camp and several of its other camps n Bahri, where the SAF trained the Shadow Brigades (radical Islamist jihadi forces supported by members of the former regime of dictator Omar al-Bashir) for battle. The camps are now fully secured. More than 700 individuals were apprehended. Unfortunately, dozens died in the clash.

The RSF remains prepared to eliminate the Shadow Brigades, prioritizing the well-being and safety of the people of Sudan.
