The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has condemned the military attack by the Sudan People Liberation Movement (Northern) (SPLM-N) chaired by Abd Aziz Al-Hilo, on the Lagawa area, West Kordofan State, which resulted in the death, injury, terrify displace of innocent residents, which considers flagrant violation to the ceasefire agreement signed in October 2019.
The RSF calls on the SPLM-N to adhere to obligation, not to endanger the wellbeing of the citizens, to immediately ceasefire, to fulfil the agreement obligations signed with government of Sudan.
The RSF underscores that the RSF works within the joint forces system in repulsing the SPLM-N attacks on Lagawa area, stressing that its forces in Lagawa city includes all components of Sudanese community.
The RSF pointed out to allegations stated in the SPLM-N statement in which it accused the RSF of siding with one side over the others, which is not true, on the contrary, it is continuous attempts of SPLM-N to cover up its ongoing violations, attacks against the unarmed citizens.
The RSF calls on the SPLM-N to avoid using citizens as a cover to pass their political and racism agenda, to undermine peace and social coexistence in the area.
The RSF also reaffirmed that the RSF performs their duties as by the law in maintaining security, stability, safety of local community, it will not allow any acts of violence for attacking cities, villages, endanger the people’s wellbeing.
The RSF once again reiterates its call to SPLM-N to join the peace process to achieve unity, integrity, cohesion of Sudan.
