The Transitional Sovereignty Council President, General Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan has returned home after participating in the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, a short visit to Arab Republic of Egypt.
He was received at Khartoum Airport by the Transitional Sovereignty Council Vice President, General Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo.
In a press statement upon arrival, the Director of Political Department of the Sovereignty Council, Member of accompanying delegation, Ambassador Omer Siddiq said that the participation of the Transitional Sovereignty Council President in the 77th of United Nations General Assembly included, Sudan’s speech on Thursday, 22nd of September, in which he addressed a number of internal, regional, and international issues, holding meetings in sidelines of the 77th session with a number of Presidents of states, regional and international organizations.
Ambassador Omer Siddiq stated that the meetings included the President of Republic of Senegal, Chairman of the current session of African Union, President Macky Sall, President of Republic of Zimbabwe, President of Burundi, President of the Republic of Gambia, pointing out the meetings addressed the bilateral relations between Sudan and these countries, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interests.
He added the General Al-Burhan met with the Secretary General of United Nations, Antonio Guterres, the Chairman of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki, Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lovrov.
He also added that the President Al-Burhan concluded his visit to Arab Republic of Egypt, during which he held talks with the President of Egypt, Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, which addressed the ways to strengthen Khartoum-Caito relations.
