The Transitional Sovereignty Council Vice President, General Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo has stressed Sudan’s keenness to developing and strengthening its relations with Italy in all fields to achieve the interests of both countries.
The statement was made in his office at the Presidential Palace during the reception of the Italian Ambassador, Gianluigi Vassallo, on the expiry of his assignment occasion to Sudan, in the presence of Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dafa-Allah Al-Haj, the Director of European Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Khalid Musa.
Dagalo praised the efforts of Italy to support the stability of Sudan, appreciating the level of fruitful coordination between the two countries in the fields of combating illegal migration, health, humanitarian.
The vice president called upon Italy and International Community to support Sudan and its people to carry out the process of democratic transition, noting that Sudan is open to all countries worldwide, to promote this relation based on joint interests and mutual respect.
Meanwhile, Ambassador, Gianluigi Vassallo expressed his appreciation to the Government of Sudan and its people for their continuous support and respect during his work in Khartoum, stressing that it is a unique development period between the two countries, reiterating his country’s support for the efforts of Sudan to achieve peace and stability, democratic transition, to cooperate together to combating illegal migration, adding that his country has donated quarter of a million Euros to support those who were affected by natural disasters in Sudan.
