South Sudanese president receives Transitional Sovereignty Council VP

South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit has received Transitional Sovereignty Council Vice President, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo today in Juba.

South Sudanese Presidential Advisor for Security Affairs Tot Goluak, Presidential Minister Barnabas Benjamin, and Sudanese Ambassador to South Sudan Jamal Malik also attended.

The meeting addressed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen and develop these ties in all areas. 

The vice president praised Mayardit’s efforts to achieve peace and successfully implement the Peace Agreement. He was also briefed on the development of the integrated forces, which will graduate by the end of this month. A new batch will also be enrolled in November.

Dagalo also underscored the importance of continuing to monitor the implementation of the Peace Agreement and intensifying contacts between all the document’s signatories. 

These efforts are vital to ensure a lasting, comprehensive peace in South Sudan, he said.

Meanwhile, Goluak thanked the vice president for his visit and his efforts to promote stability in the country.
