The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Central Darfur Intelligence Sector has recovered a state-owned Toyota that was stolen in front of the Zalingi branch of Khartoum Bank.
RSF Central Darfur Intelligence Department Chairman, Captain Al-Tahir Musa Bella stated that a team departed immediately to the area to capture the vehicle after receiving information about the criminals’ whereabouts.
The RSF was forced to exchange fire with the perpetrators after arriving to the scene.
Although the fugitives escaped, the RSF managed to recover the vehicle.
Transitional Sovereignty Council VP participates in funeral of 18 martyrs
The people of Geneina have escorted today 18 martyrs to their final place of rest after they were killed on Thursday afternoon in Bir Saliba in the Serba Locality.
The individuals were ambushed the day before while attempting to recover their camels, which had been stolen by Chadian fugitives.
The ceremony was chaired by Ttransitional Sovereignty Council Vice President, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, West Darfur Deputy Governor Tigani Al-Tahir Karshom, Deputy Chief of Operational Staff Khalid Abdin Shami, Police General Mohhamed Ibrahim, Intelligence General Abu-Obeida Mergani, and the State Security Committee.
The vice president offered his condolence to the families of the martyrs and called upon the people to show restraint, so the state can take the requisite measures to protect their rights.
He stressed that it is the state’s core obligation to defend civilians and protect Sudan's borders.
Dagalo asked the people not to interfere in legal and judicial processes in Sudan, or to seek blood revenge after the incident.
He underscored that rule of law is imperative in Sudan, and the population must allow justice to run its course.
Dagalo further added that the Joint Forces will hold an emergency meeting to decide how to best safeguard the border with Chad after the recent security development.
He also ensured the people that the area will be secured and peace will be maintained.
West Darfur Deputy Governor Tigani Al-Tahir Karshom added that the State Security Committee has closely followed the situation after these attacks and is responsible for protecting the people.
