Chadian president receives Transitional Sovereignty Council VP

Transitional Military Council President, General Mahamat Idriss Deby has received at the Presidential Palace in N’Djamena Transitional Sovereignty Council Vice President, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo. 

The vice president was accompanied by General Intelligence Services Director, General Ahmed Ibrahim Mofadal and Military Intelligence Authority Chairman, General Mohammed Ali Sabeer.

The two sides discussed bilateral relations between Sudan and Chad, how to best fortify them, and common areas of interest between the countries. 

In a press statement after the meeting, Dagalo underscored that relations are “eternal” between Khartoum and N’Djamena. 

He stressed that the talks also addressed security, border, and economic cooperation issues.

The vice president said the Chadian president agreed on pressing matters discussed during the meeting. Practical solutions to border problems were addressed during these discussions. 

Dagalo added that Sudan recently hosted a meeting with the Chadian joint forces, which ran for four days in Khartoum. He added that Chad will benefit significantly from Port Sudan as it continues to modernize.
