The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Reconciliation and Peace Committee has launched an initiative to strengthen peace and the social fabric in IDP-inhabited areas in West Darfur State.
The initiative was proposed during a meeting between the committee’s chairman, Colonel Musa Hamid Ambello and the people of Easter Valley and the Krindil-1 and -2 localities.
The initiative will be aimed at spreading peace and tolerance and educating the people about the risks posed by tribal conflict.
In a press statement, Ambello stressed the importance of maintaining peaceful coexistence, overcoming agricultural and peace-building obstacles, and securing stability in Sudan.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Suleiman, who will chair the initiative, praised the committee's efforts to maintain peace in the state and throughout the entire region of Darfur.
