Transitional Sovereignty Council Vice President, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo has inspected the humanitarian aid storage facilities in Ginena to ensure that the area is prepared for the voluntary return of IDPs.
The vice president assured that IDPs will gradually and voluntarily return home to Krink, and all the requisite measures must be taken to provide for their safety, health, and security.
Dagalo was accompanied on his visit by fellow council member Al-Tahir Hagar, Deputy Chief of Operational Staff, General Khalid Abdin Al-Shami, Police General Ahmed Ibrahim, and Intelligence General Abu-Obeida Mergani.
The vice president also ordered the deployment of an increased number of the Joint Forces and installing a police checkpoint in the camp to maintain peace and stability.
He also reiterated that the government is continuing its efforts to promote rule of law.
Transitional Sovereignty Council VP visits Ginena Stadium for 'sport for peace' event
Transitional Sovereignty Council Vice President, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo has visited Ginena Stadium to check up on the preparations for an upcoming “sport for peace” festival to be held there under the motto, "Darfur Recovers from Ginena."
The vice president said the stadium has been prepared well for the event, as the local community continues to move forward with its efforts to renounce tribalism, racism, and regionalism.
He also praised the positive role of sport in helping to bring together disputing peoples.
