Transitional Sovereignty Council Vice President, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo has arrived to Ginena, the capital of West Darfur State.
The visit is aimed at promoting further tribal reconciliation, imposing the authority of the state and rule of law, assisting with the voluntary return of IDPs, strengthening the social fabric in the local community, and monitoring procedures and decisions related to implementing peace deals on the ground.
The vice president was accompanied by fellow council member Al-Tahir Abu Baker Hagar, Deputy Chief of Operational Staff, General Khalid Abdin Al-Shami, Police General Ahmed Ibrahim, Intelligence General Abu-Obeida Mergani, and representatives of the Armed Struggle Movements.
Dagalo was received at Martyr Sibira Airport by Governor Khamis Abd Allah Abaker, representatives of the State Security Committee, and members of political, social, and cultural committees.
Previously, the vice president issued an announcement stating that he would return to Darfur to continue working with the local population to achieve peace and stability, end tribalism and racism, and promote the value of tolerance.
