First Vice President of the Sovereign Council, head of the Sudanese negotiating delegation, 1st Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo said in press statements held in Khartoum airport that the agreement reached with the armed struggle movements in Juba is considered one of the most important achievements of December glorious revolution.
The statements of the 1st Vice President of the Sovereign Council came upon his arrival in Khartoum after the signature of the initial peace agreement between the government and the armed struggle movements in Juba,
Daglo was received in Khartoum airport by member of the Sovereign Council, 1st Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Jabir and other leading figures of the Sudanese government.
The 1st Vice President described the regional and international support and welcoming to the agreement as a strong motive to the government, affirming the importance of implementing the agreement.
“The negotiating delegation stayed in Juba 3 days after the signature to arrange for the timetables with the armed struggle movements to implement the agreement on the ground” Daglo said.
Daglo urged the international community to support South Sudan State to implement the agreement, calling on the non-signatories of the agreement to join the peace process to achieve the comprehensive peace in Sudan.
He lauded the efforts of South Sudan government for hosting the talks, expressing appreciation to the mediation delegation led by the political advisor of South Sudan President, Tut Galwak for his tireless efforts in narrowing the disputes between the two negotiating delegations.
