During a meeting at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday with South Sudanese Vice President James Wani Igga, Transitional Sovereignty Council Vice President, Chairperson of the Higher Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of the Revitalized South Sudan Peace Agreement, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo was briefed on the implementation of the peace agreement.
The sides discussed the prospect of joint cooperation between Khartoum and Juba in various fields to consolidate peace and stability in the two countries. They also discussed the current challenges facing the implementation of the peace agreement.
In a press statement, James said he briefed Dagalo on the implementation of the Revitalized South Sudan Peace Agreement, pointing out South Sudan’s ability to overcome challenges.
He added that a mediation delegation chaired by South Sudanese Presidential Advisor for Security Affairs Tut Galwak will arrive in Khartoum today to monitor progress in the implementation of the agreement and contribute to dialogue between the parties.
