Transitional Sovereignty Council Vice President, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo has arrived this morning to Juba, the capital of South Sudan, for an official visit to monitor the implementation of the Revitalized Peace Agreement.
He was accompanied by Acting Defense Minister, General Yasin Ibrahim and Acting Oil Minister Mohammed Abd Allah Mahmoud, as well as members of the technical committee on security arrangements for the peace agreement.
Dagalo was received at the airport by South Sudanese Presidential Advisor Tut Galwak, Prime Minister Martin Elia, Defense Minister Angelina Ting and Sudan's Ambassador to South Sudan, Ambassador Jamal Malik, as well as embassy personnel.
The visit by the vice president and his delegation is a final step toward bringing to a conclusion the security arrangement protocols under the peace agreement.
Last week, the Sudanese government received a South Sudanese delegation chaired by Galwak.
Galwak brought proposals regarding the peace agreement to the monitoring committee, which is chaired by Dagalo, for review and consideration.
