Transitional Sovereignty Council Vice President, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo has held a phone call with South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit. During the call, Dagalo and Mayardit discussed the implementation of the peace agreement in South Sudan.
Mayardit briefed Dagalo on the most recent developments in the implementation process.
The South Sudanese president also assured Dagalo during the call that any challenges facing the agreement’s implementation will be successfully overcome.
He thanked the Sudanese government for its sincere interest in achieving stability in South Sudan, as well as its efforts to bring all stakeholders together.
Mayardit underscored South Sudan’s strong motivation and interest to proceed with the agreement.
Meanwhile, Dagalo said South Sudan has sufficient capabilities and knowledge to overcome any obstacles that might stand in the way of maintaining peace and stability in the country.
He assured Mayardit that Sudan will continue to support all respective parties to implement the peace agreement and ensure security and stability in South Sudan. He also stressed the importance of applying wisdom and reason when taking and implementing any decision.
