Transitional Sovereignty Council Vice President, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo visited Haydob Port in Red Sea State today while touring Sudan’s ports.
Haydob Port is used primarily for exporting livestock.
Dagalo was accompanied on his visit by economic officials and financial experts.
While visiting the port, the vice president was briefed on why work has ceased at Haydob, which is located 85 kilometers from Port Sudan. He pledged to find a solution to existing problems facing the port, which he pointed out is well structured and organized.
Dagalo underscored the need to sit down with all relevant parties, including local residents, to discuss how to overcome challenges and get the port up and running within 72 hours.
He also visited a festival held by the Rashayda Tribe, chaired by Mabrouk Mubark, where he was warmly welcomed.
On the way back to Port Sudan, the vice president stopped to speak with by a large crowd about the need to support peace and stability by eradicating tribalism while ensuring tribal integrity in Sudan.
