The RSF liberates Heglig region and pledges to protect oil facilities and technical teams.

MEDIA STATEMENT 

Earlier this Monday morning the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) managed to take control of the strategic area of Heglig in South Kordofan State after the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood Army fled.

The liberation of the Heglig oil area marks a pivotal point in the path toward liberating the entire country, given the region’s economic importance as a key source of funding for the Port Sudan clique, which has used it to finance the war, expand its scope, and prolong its duration.

Our forces affirm that they will secure and protect the vital oil facilities in the area to safeguard the interests of the brotherly Republic of South Sudan, which relies heavily on oil resources that pass through Sudanese territory to global markets.

We also reaffirm our commitment to providing full protection to all engineering and technical teams and workers at the oil facilities, ensuring a safe and suitable environment for them to perform their duties.

We reiterate our full commitment to the humanitarian truce declared by us, while maintaining our inherent right to self-defense, as guaranteed by international law.
