Keeping in line with their scorched-earth policy of hatred

Keeping in line with their scorched-earth policy of hatred, brutality, and cowardice, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), its allied mercenary groups, and its terrorist militias linked to the former regime conducted airstrikes yesterday on the city of Nyala in South Darfur, resulting in dozens of civilian deaths and injuries, including innocent women and children, and the destruction of homes.

The deliberate targeting of innocent civilians by the SAF and its extremist patrons from the former regime, who continue to drop barrel bombs over the heads of innocent women and children, most recently through this indiscriminate bombing campaign on residential neighborhoods in eastern and northern Nyala, is a clear sign of the desperation and weakness plaguing the hijacked SAF leadership on the battlefield. Such actions are a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and ethical norms.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) strongly condemns the repeated barbaric acts and systematic targeting of civilians by the SAF and its terrorist coconspirators from the corrupt and oppression-driven former regime.

We urge the international community and human rights organizations to condemn their brutal crimes against the Sudanese people. The local and international community must not turn a blind eye to these heinous acts that violate international law and the Geneva Conventions.

The RSF affirms once more that our courageous soldiers remain committed to putting an end to this bloodthirsty gang linked to the former regime. We pledge to the residents of Nyala and all other cities and villages targeted by the SAF that we will not retreat until we have achieved our people's aspirations for freedom, peace, and justice, and established a unified national professional army dedicated solely to safeguarding our land and its people.
