The Rapid Support Forces down Bayraktar aircraft in "Barno," ​​South Kordofan

MEDIA STATEMENT

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has successfully shot down, today Saturday, a Turkish-made Bayraktar drone in Barno area in South Kordofan, while it was targeting civilians as part of a series of attacks carried out by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) that operates under the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood. The latest of these attacks targeted gatherings of innocent civilians from Christian communities in the town of Geld, resulting in the death of more than twenty (20) civilians.

Our forces renew their firm determination to protect civilians and confront decisively the assaults carried out by the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood army through near-daily aerial strikes using drones, which target residential areas, public facilities, infrastructure, and hospitals, in flagrant violation of international laws and norms.

Our forces further affirm that they will remain steadfast in their firm approach of monitoring and field vigilance to protect cities and villages and to ensure the security of citizens. We also reaffirm that we will not allow any threat that endangers the security of the country or the lives of innocent people.
