Tasis Forces down an Akinci drone in "Al Furshaya," South Kordofan

MEDIA STATEMENT

Earlier this Saturday, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Air Defense Units successfully shot down a Turkish-made “Bayraktar” drone in Al-Farshaya area in South Kordofan State as it attempted to target civilians, as a part of a series of attacks carried out by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) that operates under the so-called terrorist Muslim Brotherhood, which have claimed the lives of dozens of civilians during the current month.

Our forces reaffirm their firm determination to protect civilians and resolutely confront the attacks carried out by the terrorist Brotherhood army through drone airstrikes that target residential areas, public facilities, and infrastructure, in flagrant violation of international laws and norms.

We once again call on the international community, regional organizations, and human rights bodies to condemn these systematic crimes against defenseless civilians and to take immediate action to halt the repeated attacks on populated areas.

We affirm that our forces will remain steadfast in their decisive approach to surveillance and field vigilance to protect cities and villages and ensure the security of citizens, and we further affirm that we will not allow any threat to the safety of the homeland or the lives of innocent people.
