The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) strongly condemn the drone strike carried out today, Friday, by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) operating under the terrorist Islamic Movement on Adre border crossing, using Turkish-made Akinci drones, in a deliberate attack targeting the Adikon Gate.
Adre crossing is one of the vital corridors connecting Sudan and the Republic of Chad and serves as a crucial humanitarian lifeline for the delivery of aid and commercial supplies to civilians affected by the war. It is evident that the objective of this strike is to deliberately obstruct the flow of humanitarian assistance and hinder relief efforts, further worsening the suffering of civilians.
Targeting this humanitarian corridor constitutes a direct threat to humanitarian organizations and places aid workers in grave danger.
In light of this dangerous escalation, the Rapid Support Forces call upon the Quartet Mechanism, international organizations, foremost among them the United Nations and the UN Security Council to assume their legal and moral responsibilities and take the necessary measures to stop these attacks and hold those responsible accountable.
The continuous international silence toward these violations encourages the perpetrators to persist in committing further crimes against civilians and humanitarian infrastructure.
We affirm that our forces are fully capable of providing the necessary protection for the border crossing to ensure the steady flow of humanitarian aid and to safeguard civilians and humanitarian personnel.
In conclusion, we reiterate our strong condemnation of this criminal attack and express our deep concern over the absence of a firm international stance, at a time when the Muslim Brotherhood’s army continues to commit violations without deterrence.
