River Nile Acting Governor Mohammed Al-Badawi Abd-Elmajed stated yesterday that the values of amnesty and forgiveness must be disseminated widely in Sudan, while addressing the local population during the reconciliation ceremony of the Rofaa and Hassania tribes.

The ceremony was attended by Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Representative, Reconciliation Committee Chairman, Colonel Musa Ambello and a number of officials from River Nile State.

An unconditional pardon was granted at the ceremony to a deceased local man, Bashier Hamid Hussein Jad Allah.

Al-Badawi expressed his appreciation to all sides and underscored that amnesty and tolerance play an instrumental role in Islam.

He described the relations between the two tribes as both “historic and very deep.”

Al-Badawi also praised the efforts of the RSF and other members of the armed forces in securing tribal reconciliation and maintaining peace and stability throughout the state.

Meanwhile, Ambello conveyed to the tribes warm greetings from Transitional Sovereignty Council Vice President, RSF Commander, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo.

“Without any tribal or regional bias, the RSF aims to stop bloodshed across Sudan,” he said.

Ambello stressed that regionalism and tribalism must be renounced nationwide. He thanked the native administration, which he described as the core pillar of the local social fabric.

Highlighting the native administration’s importance for the community, Ambello added: “General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo places great significance on the local administration, as it is considered to be a key to ensuring national unity and maintaining stability in Sudan.”
