FVP Calls for Concerted Efforts to Achieve Stability in Abyei

First Vice President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, RSF Commander in Chief, 1^st Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo has received Abyei Joint Oversight Commission (AJOC) delegation led by Maj. Gen. Eng. Mohamed Alawi Koko Makhair in the presence Messiriya tribe chieftains.

The First Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council affirmed his interest and support for the Abyei issue, as it is an issue of concern to all Sudanese, pointing out to the importance of joint political and popular efforts to achieve stability n the area and providing basic services to the citizens.

For his part, head of AJOC delegation said that the delegation, with the participation of the three overseers of the Misseriya tribe (Ajayra - Falayta - Misseriya Az-Zarq), discussed the political, security, development and administrative issues of the Abyei region, stressing, affirming that the FVP called for unification of the visions to push the issue forward.

Koko described the issue of Abyei as an important national and security issue for all Sudanese, appreciating the interest and understanding the delegation found from the FVP, as well as his great support to reach a solution to the outstanding issues.
