The RSF Commander in Central Darfur, Brig. Ali Yagoub has affirmed the readiness of his forces to provide the security to Genaid Construction Company working in the maintenance of Zalingie/Nirtiti highway.
He considered the road as the lifeline of the people as it links Darfur states with each other besides the neighbouring countries such as Chad.
He added in press statements, after participating in the popular mobilization launched by Central Darfur Government for the maintenance of the highway with length of 37 kilometers, that the initiative came timely to bring an end to the suffering of the people who suffered a lot.
Brig. Yagoub hailed the role of the social components, local administrations, and resistance committees in Central Darfur for taking the lead in this initiative.
Meanwhile, the technical advisor of Gendia Construction Company, Eng. Khalil Abdallah said that the highway did not witness any maintenance since its construction in the eightieth, adding that the company will endevour with the central and state government s to accomplish the project according to the required standards.
